About EyepieceLab
EyepieceLab helps people choose and use astronomy gear: telescopes, eyepieces, binoculars, smart telescopes and the small accessories that make a night out easier.
Where our information comes from
- Specs come from manufacturers' official spec pages and product sheets (Celestron, Sky-Watcher, ZWO, Dwarflab, Unistellar, iOptron and others).
- Optics math (magnification, exit pupil, useful power) comes from maker references such as Celestron's knowledge base and Tele Vue.
- What you can see and when comes from NASA, including its monthly What's Up skywatching notes and the Night Sky Network.
- Solar safety comes from NASA and the American Astronomical Society.
- Product details come from maker specifications and retail listings, and we say so (“per the listing”).
What we don't do
We don't test telescopes, and we don't invent ratings, scores or “views through the eyepiece.” Where makers' claims are marketing, we attribute them.
